Civil War Ironclad Miniatures
The USS Passaic was the first of a ten ship class of 1335 ton ironclad monitors. Her combat service began in 1863 when she took part in the capture of a blockade-running schooner. She was one of nine ironclads to attach Ft. Sumter on April 7, 1863 and received serious damage, but was repaired and remained in service for the remainder of the war. This hand-painted, cast resin miniature makes a great gift for a Civil War history buff. 18" long, 7" tall, 4" wide.
The CSS Tennessee was a 1274 ton ironclad ram, built in Selma, AL. She was the strongest craft in the naval defense at Mobile Bay. After an intense battle on August 5, 1864, she was surrendered to Union forces and renamed the USS Tennessee. The damage was repaird and she served the U.S. Navy until 1867. This hand-painted cast resin model is a great gift for Civil War history buffs!
