This high-quality reproduction of the officer's 50-Mission Crush Cap recalls the glory days of the US Army Air Force. The cap got its name from the practice of officers removing the wire cap stiffener to accommodate the headphones they wore on missions. The wearer of a worn crush cap was Considered an experienced combat flyer with at least 50 missions under his belt. The crush caps became popular with ground Army officers, too--including general officers.
