Dueling pistols had to be quick firing and accurate. The barrels were often exceptionally heavy, to better absorb the jerk of a nervous trigger finger. Our non-firing replica of an 18th Century Spanish percussion dueling pistol has the long, heavy barrel that is typical of dueling pistols of that time, and the classic stock shape that allowed the weapon to be accurately "pointed" as an extension of the dueler's arm for a steady aim and quick firing.
