Deadwood, a mining settlement in the Dakota Territory, was a wild and wooly place until a sheriff was appointed in the late 1870s--the kind of place where a stagecoach robber might come to hide out and spend his ill-gotten gains in one of the town's many saloons or brothels. This barnwood framed set recalls that period in Deadwood history with a full size replica of our engraved 1873 Single Action revolver in simluated gold plating, mounted over a wanted poster advising the citizens of Deadwood of the reward offered for a robber of the Overland stage.

This elegant engraved piece is an exact (non-firing) reproduction of the Navy revolvers carried by James Bulter "Wild Bill" Hickok. Hickok became well known as an Army scout during the Civil War. In fact, his pair of these beautiful revolvers was a gift from a Massachusetts Senator in recognition of his service as a scout for the Union Army during the War Between the States.
